Here are some of the ways that I plan on motivating myself to go rather than sitting around watching TV or playing a smartphone.
1. Sign-up for group fitness.
Just like a workout buddy, finding classes to attend can really help your motivation to participate.
2. Go early.
You don't have to go at the crack of dawn but it's better to go in the morning than later in the day. Start your day off with a workout, amirite? The longer you put it off, the less likely you are to go.
3. Make a plan and stick to it.
If you have a set plan, you're more likely to follow through.

It's always easier to motivate yourself to work out when you have someone to go with! If you have a buddy, you can push each other.
5. Look up workouts before you go.
Pinterest and Instagram are wonderful places to find workouts.
6. Imagine how great you’ll feel afterward.
Working out releases the feel-good hormones, i.e. endorphins so even if you don't really feel like working out one day, you'll feel great afterward.
7. Set goals.
If you have a goal, you have something to work toward. When you complete it, you'll feel accomplished. Once you finish a goal, find another one!
8. Track your progress.
You can track your progress by tracking your weight loss or by picking a few exercises and seeing the increase in weight or amount. By doing this, you're able to see how far you've come since you started.
9. Create a routine.
If you go to the gym at the same time every day, you'll be able to create a routine and once that routine is set, you'll have a greater chance at sticking to it.
10. Find a good gym.
Whether you use the gym at your apartment complex/home, the gym on campus, or pay for a gym, make sure to find one that has all of the equipment you want. If you're happy with your gym, you'll be more likely to go.
